“Elite 8” Long Haired Basketball Players from March Madness 2019

The 2019 NCAA March Madness tournament is full of exciting match-ups and a selection of slam-dunk hairstyles from all over the country.

These long haired basketball players are known for their skills and handles, but they’re are also recognizable by their awesome, weird, and outrageously long hair. With the exception of Zion Williamson of course, these ballers are some of the most exciting players in college basketball. Coincidence? I don’t know, but I’d like to think there is a connection there.

Whether it’s an ‘fro, braids or ponytail, one thing is for certain, these dudes can hoop.

People often underestimate the power of long hair in athletics. At the next level, a few NBA players are known for their trademark long hairstyles. A few names that come to mind are Kawhi Leonard, Joakim Noah, Steven Nash, and Steven Adams. And even James Harden with his trademark long beard.

Pros: Marketability. Brand. Recognition. Players with long hair tend to stand out from the crowd, and in a way they draw your eye to them when they’re on the court. This is an easy way to stand out, even if you’re not the star player.

Cons: Your hair might get in the way of your eyes (which can be a serious problem when shooting), but 1 easy way to combat this is to get a hair band or headband. Additionally with longer hair,  you are likely to sweat more on the court.

*Don’t forget to vote for your favorite player in the poll below!
