According to a US Weekly interview with model and actress Suki Waterhouse, she swears by rinsing her hair with coca cola. She says,”I don’t like my hair when it’s washed — it’s fine and limp — but Coca-Cola makes it tousled, like I’ve gone through the Amazon or something.” This hair hack has sprouted many followers willing to do the experiment. The following video (which has over 28 million views!) is of YouTube Star Ellko, reviewing this cola hair remedy.

Apparently adding a shot of vodka to your hair after washing it gives it an awesome shine. According to renowned hair stylist, Howard McClaren, he discovered this hack from reading an old hair care book from the early 1900’s. If you didn’t already know, most hair products like gels contain a decent amount of alcohol in them. It should be noted that by doing this often, you run the risk of drying out your hair, not to mention it’s a waste of perfectly good vodka.

I recently read that if you have dark hair and want some highlight on the cheap, you can try a little lemon juice. By gently combing lemon juice through your mane, then sitting in the sun for at least 45min it will actually bleach your hair into a subtle lighter complexion. Just be cautious, since lemon juice is acidic and may dry out your hair/scalp.

Here’s the process: rinse flat beer after shampooing your hair. Then let it sit for a few minutes. After a few minutes, RINSE IT OUT. Many people have claimed that by doing this it make their hair feel thicker and appear shinier. Just promise me one thing… that you don’t waste it on any good beer.
