Hair Shedding and Ways to Decrease it

How much hair do you shed daily?

The average person sheds approximately 100-200 hair strands a day. Shedding is a normal part of hair growth. Really it all comes down to the health of your hair. Not to worry though, new hair comes in and grows where the old ones fell out. So if you’re worried about losing hair, don’t worry or stress; it’s perfectly normal. Also note that the more hair you have, the more you will shed.

Before your hair gets long, you probably won’t notice or observe daily hair shedding. But once your hair gets semi-long (around 4 inches) you will truly be amazed about how much hair you shed everyday. So how can you prevent hair shedding?

Ways to decrease hair shedding:

  • Don’t Wash Your Hair so Often
  • Eat Healthy and Hydrate
  • Reduce Stress
  • Easy on the Brushing (run fingers through hair)
  • Don’t Brush When Hair is Wet
  • Supplements (Castor Oil, Biotin, and lot of others)
  • Reduce Alcohol Intake and Smoking
  • Gently Massage Your Scalp

Following these tips will help keep your scalp full of hair. But, if you do notice a lot of shedding, it probably is not likely a cause for concern. As long as your aren’t visibly noticing you hair thinning out, it probably isn’t an issue.
